Graduated from the Lisinsky Forestry Technical School. In 2000, completed his studies at the S.M. Kirov Saint Petersburg State Forestry Academy, specializing as an engineer in forestry and landscape gardening.
He has over 30 years of experience in the industry. His career path spans from a forest master to Chairman of the Committee for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Leningrad Region. Since 2011, he has served as Deputy Director for Regional Development at the Federal State Institution "Saint Petersburg Forestry Research Institute.
With the active involvement of A.A. Stepchenko, the model of intensive forestry has been implemented across the territory of the Russian Federation, and a nationwide network of greenhouse complexes for cultivating seedlings with closed root systems has been established.
