Conference 2018

 

 

The event was held by the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia and the Сonference operator - the Association of Specialists of Pulp and Paper Industry (ASPPI).

The Conference in Vienna has become an effective platform for communication between heads of state authorities, business structures, timber and pulp and paper industries, equipment manufacturers and customers of pulp and paper products.

The President of the Union of Timber Manufacturers and Exporters of Russia Miron Tatsyun greeted participants of the Conference, following the results of the previous Conference a number of expert proposals concerning development of pulp and paper industry were formulated and sent to relevant government bodies, meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment and other interested departments.

The Conference included five panel discussions in the following areas:

  •        “Development Strategy of the Russian Forestry Complex - results of its elaboration. Discussion of the action plan for its implementation”;
  •       “Prospects for global and domestic markets of the pulp and paper industry”;
  •       “Round table with CEOs”;
  •        “Investment climate and attractiveness of the Russian pulp and paper industry”;
  •        “A look at the future of pulp and paper industry - new types of products, new solutions, new business models”

The Conference was attended by about 200 people, production companies, scientific institutions and organizations, industry media, foreign guests, more than 40 speakers leading in the pulp and paper industry, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and a number of governors.

At the forum, representatives of business, timber industry and authorities discussed the current state and development trends of Russian and global pulp and paper industries, investments, and interaction between Russian and foreign companies.

It was attended by the leaders of such major enterprises with foreign participation, such as Mondi Syktyvkar Timber Industry Complex, Arkhangelsk PPM, Segezha Group, Sveza-Les, Siberwood, Sberbank, Karelia Pulp, Andritz, Ekman and others.

During the two-day work, the Conference participants discussed interim results of 2018 and long term prospects for the development of timber industry complex.

All reports of the Conference were met with great interest and were subject to lively discussion, speakers answered all the questions asked.
