Born in Moscow in 1954, Sergey Katyrin graduated from Moscow Automobile and Road Construction State Technical University (MADI) and MGIMO University’s School of International Business.

He worked in CCI of Russia since its Founding Congress in 1991, being Vice President and a member of the Board of Directors from 1992 to 2011. Since March 2011, Sergey Katyrin has been President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Russian Federation.

Sergey Katyrin is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Trade Center Moscow and Expocenter JSC.

Katyrin represents the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in major non-governmental organizations of entrepreneurs, being a member of their governing bodies, as well as a member of the Russian Government’s Commission for the development of small and medium enterprise and a member of the Public Council for the development of small and medium enterprise under the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia.

Sergey Katyrin holds membership in: the Russian Presidential Economic Council, the Government Commission on Administrative Reform, the Government Commission on Import Substitution, the Government Commission on Public Health.

He simultaneously performs the functions related to international activities of CCI of Russia, acting as co-chair of the Russian part of the BRICS Business Council and chairman of the national part of the SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) Business Council from Russia, as well as a member of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) Council of the Heads of CCI.

Sergey Katyrin has been the recipient of Russian and foreign awards.
